James Painter

James Painter is a research associate at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism, and a senior teaching associate at the Environmental Change Institute, School of Geography, both at Oxford University. He is also a senior visiting fellow at the Grantham Research Institute, LSE. He has published widely on climate change in the media in several countries. His current research includes analysis of media coverage of extreme weather in India and Europe, the challenges facing climate journalism, and the changing nature of climate scepticism around the world, and particularly the UK. He has also acted as a communication consultant to the IPCC.
