CRUNCH 4.6: Discovering talent – Discovering, supporting & retaining talent: tackling conscious bias to be successfully future fit

Date: 25 Nov 2021

Our CRUNCH series continues to be supported by our TAB partners, Xandr & Google

The last two years have forced a worldwide re-thinking about how we work and what our workforces look like. Working from home can open up new challenges for your team, but it also expands your talent pool far beyond those who can commute to your office. In the face on an unparalleled opportunity to broaden your talent pool, how can you ensure that you’re tackling your unconscious bias and delivering inclusive working environments?

Join us online to hear from a line-up of experts and to discover actionable insights to help you re-shape your talent recruitment and management strategies, including:

  • How can you widen and expand your appeal to attract talent from every community – regardless of level of entry?
  • What is the key to delivering inclusive working environments and practices to support your team and to ensure your workforce is a reflection of wider society?
  • How can publishers ensure that they’re working in line with advertisers and agencies to deliver greater change across the industry?

Crunch is a series of six events where publisher members can come together with their contemporaries and the industry for

  • Collaboration to progress key industry issues
  • Inspiration and learning
  • Networking

Bitesize

  • Diversity and inclusion should be an integral part of your business. Organisations whose culture is built off the back of difference will succeed in the long-run.
  • Be adaptable. Everyone starts from a different place, and so everyone needs different support and advice to succeed.
  • D&I can’t be a once-and-done effort. As your diversity strategies broaden your workforce, you need to revisit your inclusion strategies to ensure they’re still serving your employees.
  • Better networks are needed to give under-represented groups access to the advice and support others have. Mentorship can be a powerful tool to empower individuals.
  • If you’re doing outreach, make sure that you have something people can act on immediately – whether that’s signing up for a programme or applying for a job. And don’t be afraid to reach out to groups that specialise in outreach; it takes a vast amount of work, so lean on those who already have connections with under-served communities.
